QLD/NSW Flood Assistance

Federal Government Assistance (Queensland and New South Wales)

The Federal Government is providing two assistance packages for people affected by the recent floods in South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales.

The Disaster Recovery Payment is available to individuals who have been significantly affected by the floods, with a lump sum of up to $1000 per adult and $400 per child under 16.

The Disaster Recovery Allowance is available to individuals who have lost income as a direct result of the floods.

The amount available is equivalent to the maximum rate of JobSeeker or Youth Allowance that you would receive in your personal circumstances.

Queensland Government Assistance

The Queensland Government has not finalised business assistance packages in response to the latest floods at this stage.

New South Wales Government Assistance

The New South Wales Government has an online tool to find what assistance is available for your business. Click HERE to access this tool.

An additional Disaster Relief Grant is available to individuals whose home was damaged in the floods and is no longer safe or habitable. This Grant is only available if your house was not insured against the floods and you have limited financial resources.
