AAAA Women lead skills shortage talks in Canberra
AAAA has long said there is no easy way to tackle the skills shortage that has affected and continues to affect our industry. We need to come up with innovative ways to attract the best talent to our industry.
That’s why this week AAAA Women led a delegation to the Parliament of Australia to ensure that the right policies are in place to encourage more women to join our industry.
The delegation met with several government ministers, including the Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations, Minister for Skills and Training, Assistant Minister for Productivity, Competition, Charities and Treasury. As well as senior opposition shadow ministers including the Shadow Minister for the Digital Economy; Cyber Security; Science, Technology and Innovation, Shadow Minister for Women and the Deputy Leader of the Opposition.
Both Government and Opposition MPs were shocked to hear about the disparity in our industry and provided useful insights into ways to progress. There was also a strong commitment from both major parties to continuing discussions as we develop policies.
