AAAA Announces Board Appointments and Recognises Outgoing Directors
The Australian Automotive Aftermarket Association (AAAA) has welcomed three new directors and recognised the significant contributions of outgoing Chair Wayne Bryant and director Graeme Whickman following its Annual General Meeting.
Held on 19 October 2026 at Waters Edge in Hamilton, Brisbane, the AGM marked a leadership transition for the Association, with Craig Baills to become interim Chair.
Joining the AAAA Board are Aileen Hayes, Chief People Officer at GPC Asia Pacific; Grant Malseed, Director of Superformance, and Gary Carli, Head of Engineering at Sydney Diesel Centre.
The appointments bring experience across people and culture, business leadership and automotive engineering, strengthening the Board’s capacity to guide the Association and represent the diverse interests of Australia’s automotive aftermarket.
“We are pleased to welcome Aileen, Grant and Gary to the AAAA Board,” said Stuart Charity, CEO of the AAAA. “They each bring valuable perspective and a strong connection to our industry. Their experience will help shape our priorities and support our work to deliver practical outcomes for members.”
The AAAA paid tribute to Wayne Bryant for his service as Chair and his contribution to the Association and the broader automotive aftermarket industry. His leadership has helped guide the AAAA’s strategic direction and supported its work to strengthen the independent aftermarket.
“Wayne has made an outstanding contribution to the AAAA and our industry,” said Stuart. “He has brought commitment, sound judgement and a clear understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing our members. On behalf of the Board, our team and our membership, I sincerely thank him for his leadership and service.”
The Association also acknowledged outgoing director Graeme Whickman, whose commercial experience and strategic insight have been valued contributions to the Board.
“Graeme has generously shared his expertise and helped guide the Association’s work during a period of considerable change for our industry. We thank him for his contribution and commitment.”
Craig Baills will take on the role of interim Chair, bringing his experience as an existing AAAA director and his understanding of the needs of independent automotive businesses.
“Craig understands the pressures facing workshops and the importance of a strong industry voice. We look forward to working with him as interim Chair as we continue to advance our advocacy, and member support priorities,” said Stuart.
The AAAA thanks its outgoing directors and welcomes its new Board members as the Association continues its work to build a stronger future for Australia’s automotive aftermarket. The Board will elect a permanent Chair at the first meeting of the new Board in December.
