Tools, Technology and Equipment Take Centre Stage at Australia’s Largest Automotive Trade Event

With just weeks to go until the doors open, the Australian Auto Aftermarket Expo 2026 is set to deliver the most comprehensive showcase of tools, technology and workshop equipment ever seen in Australia.

Held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 14–16 May, the Expo will span more than 21,000sqm of floor space, co-located with the Collision Repair Expo 2026, and is proudly sponsored by Repco.

Featuring over 400 exhibitors, the event will bring together Australia’s biggest and best automotive brands, showcasing the latest tools, workshop equipment and innovations designed to improve efficiency and profitability. From clutches, brakes and oils to electrical systems, performance upgrades, diagnostic tooling, and service and repair parts — it’s all under one roof.

A major focus for 2026 is the rapid growth of advanced vehicle technology, with ADAS equipment and solutions prominently on display. The dedicated ADAS Training Zone will feature live demonstrations and practical sessions led by international experts, helping workshops understand the importance of correct calibration and the processes required to safely service modern vehicles.

Diagnostics will also be a key highlight, reflecting its critical role in modern service and repair. Alongside leading diagnostic brands on the show floor, attendees can build real capability with dedicated training sessions in the hands-on Diagnostic Discovery Zone, designed to strengthen fault-finding skills and improve accuracy in increasingly complex vehicles.

Beyond the products, the Expo delivers a highly interactive experience. Attendees can engage directly with suppliers, explore new ideas, test equipment, and discuss their workshop needs — all while discovering new opportunities to grow their business.

Complementing the exhibition is an extensive free training program, including Business Management and Technical Training streams, delivering practical sessions for workshop owners, managers and technicians. These sessions focus on improving profitability, strengthening business performance, and building the diagnostic and technical skills required to keep pace with rapidly evolving vehicle technology.

Ahead of the Expo, a series of half day Advanced Technical Masterclasses will be held on Wednesday 13 May, offering deeper, paid training for technicians. Sessions include Programming for Popular Makes (Toyota, Ford, VAG and BMW) with Keith Perkins and Liz Perkins from L1 Automotive Training USA, Network Communication Protocols with Steve Smith from Pico Technology UK, and Developing Better Diagnostic Judgement and Critical Thinking with Scott Hicks from TOPDON USA.

International exhibitors will also be in attendance, bringing the latest global innovations to the Australian market and providing valuable insight into emerging trends from around the world.

Adding to the excitement, the Flying Spanners competition will showcase the next generation of automotive talent, with teams competing live on the show floor in a high-energy display of skill and precision.

Networking is a cornerstone of the Expo, with the free networking event on the show floor on Friday 15 May at 4:30pm a standout highlight and one of the automotive industry’s premier opportunities to connect and do business.

AAAA CEO Stuart Charity said the Expo is a must-attend event for anyone in the industry.

“Nowhere else in Australia can you see so many brands, so many parts, products, tools and equipment all in one place. Combined with unrivalled training, it is a truly incredible gathering, a great investment of your time — and a lot of fun. If you are a workshop owner or a technician, you won’t regret a day at the Expo, and best of all, it’s free,” said Charity.
