Licensing Fees Discounted

From 28 October 2020, a discount applies to all motor vehicle licensing applications processed from 1 April 2020 to 31 March 2021. The discount is equal to 12 months’ worth of your licensing fee paid during the COVID-19 emergency period. Refunds are available if the full application fee was paid from 1 April 2020. Refunds will be done automatically through electronic payment details, or if there is not an account on file a request for bank details will be sent via a posted letter and an email. Refunds will be processed over the coming months.

Export Assistance Grants 

Export Assistance Grant program provides reimbursement to eligible businesses to help them recover from the impacts of COVID-19, bushfires and drought on their international markets.  There is a reimbursement of 50% of eligible expenses incurred since 1 January 2020, up to a maximum of $10,000 per eligible business is available for current or previously exporting businesses enabling access to new or re-entering previous markets.  Funding is available for export marketing and development activities, such as market research, participation in international tradeshows and trade missions, inbound business support, e-commerce development and marketing materials. This grant is available to exporters that were established prior to the impacts of COVID-19, bushfires and/or drought only.

Sole Trader’s Early Access to Superannuation

Sole traders who have suffered a decrease in income of at least 20% as a result of COVID-19 can apply to access their superannuation, to a total value of $10,000 this financial year, and another $10,000 next financial year. Withdrawals are tax free.
