Flood Assistance – VIC, NSW, TAS

The AAAA team send our thoughts and condolences to our members affected by the recent and continuing floods. It is a challenging time for those affected. To assist, we have compiled the latest information regarding current assistance available for businesses in New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania.

Flood Assistance Payments Available

Australian Government financial assistance is available to individuals affected by recent floods in New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania. This includes a lump sum Disaster Recovery Payment of $1000 to adults and $400 to children under the age of 16. If your income continues to be affected by the floods, you can claim the Disaster Recovery Allowance, equivalent to your eligible JobSeeker or Youth Allowance rate.

These payments are only available to individuals who live or work in affected local government areas, and can be claimed through your MyGov account. If you are unable to claim through MyGov, you can call the Emergency Information Line on 180 22 66. You can claim these payments up to 17 April 2023. VICTORIA

The Victorian Government has introduced a range of support measures in response to the recent floods.

The Emergency Relief Payment is available to affected individuals who have experienced loss such as damage to their home or business, or other business losses. Click HERE for more information and to fill out the online application form.

The SES has opened sandbag collection points across Victoria to help individuals and businesses prepare against further flooding. Click HERE to find your nearest collection point, and to read the SES’s sandbagging guide.

Emergency relief centres have been set up in Bendigo, Echuca, Kerang, Maribyrnong, Nathalia, Seymour, Shepparton, Tatura, and Wycheproof. Click HERE for more information, including locations and opening hours.

If you need help navigating available support packages, clean-up, temporary accommodation, or mental health and wellbeing, you can call the Flood Recovery Hotline on 1800 560 760.

NEW SOUTH WALES

Service NSW’s Disaster Assistance Finder tool is available for businesses and individuals in New South Wales to find out which assistance packages are available if your business has been affected by the recent floods.

The questionnaire consists of five short steps, and will provide direct links to any assistance packages available. Click HERE for more information and to use the Finder.

TASMANIA

The Tasmanian Government is providing support to businesses affected by the recent floods. You can request support by filling out their Emergency Form HERE and providing details of how your business has been affected.
