Important Announcement – Autocare 2020 Convention Cancelled

Autocare 2020, Australia’s largest education led automotive convention and trade show has been cancelled.

The decision to cancel Autocare 2020, slated to be held 30 -31 October, came after careful consideration of the extraordinary circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. The cancellation of the event removes uncertainty for all event stakeholders and ensures the safety of all patrons.

At the recent Australian Automotive Aftermarket Association (AAAA) Board of Directors meeting the options for Autocare 2020 were thoroughly evaluated. Given the multitude of factors at play and continuing uncertainty, the Board unanimously decided to cancel the convention.

“Cancelling Autocare 2020 was a difficult decision for all of us, however we believe it was the right decision to make and one we had to make now, for all involved,” said Stuart Charity, CEO of the AAAA.

“With the COVID-19 health crisis still ever present, and after postponing the original June dates to late October, we have continued to listen to Government advice at both Federal and State level and worked closely with our event partner International Exhibition and Conference Group (IEC) and the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre.

“The health and well-being of speakers, exhibitors and attendees comes first and foremost. With so many unknowns, including the status of COVID-19 moving forward, restrictions on international and domestic travel, potential venue capacity restraints and general sentiment that may affect attendance, these factors culminated in our decision to cancel,” said Stuart.

“We are of course disappointed for all of our international and local guest speakers, exhibitors and attendees who were all looking forward to being part of Autocare 2020 and want to thank them in advance for their support and understanding.

“I’d also like to acknowledge the efforts of IEC and our AAAA team for their efforts on Autocare 2020 through this challenging period. Autocare will return in 2022, with planning now underway.”

All Autocare 2020 conference stream registrations, exhibitors and sponsors are entitled to a full refund, or alternatively, IEC can facilitate a roll over toward the Australian Auto Aftermarket Expo (AAAExpo) scheduled for 29 April – 1 May, 2021.

“Looking forward, we will now focus our efforts on the upcoming AAAExpo ’21 , an event that is now primed to become our biggest Expo yet. We are confident that we can deliver a safe, world class event for our industry in 2021.

AAAExpo is the nation’s most comprehensive exhibition of vehicle repair and servicing equipment, replacement parts, tools, and accessories. AAAExpo hosts leading industry experts, seminars and more than 350 top Australian and international brands on display.  Don’t miss the opportunity to showcase your business at AAAExpo.
