Workshop Health Check Inspires Business Improvement

The Australian Automotive Aftermarket Association (AAAA) has released an online Workshop Health Check initiative for the auto service and repair workshop sector.

The free industry Workshop Health Check helps workshops better understand how they are tracking in relation to other workshops across the country.  The check is confidential and only takes a few minutes to complete. After completion, a report is sent that includes your results and preliminary insights into what you can do to achieve your goals and realise your potential.

“Our Workshop Health Check analyses your performance against three years’ worth of benchmarking we have compiled from our annual nation-wide workshop research surveys. This means your comparative performance is measured on real-world data at a state and national level,” said Lesley Yates, Director of Government Relations and Advocacy of the AAAA.

“The leaders in the workshop field from our research are increasing throughput, profitability and efficiency, and incorporating innovation to foster this growth. It is from these leaders that other businesses can model or use ideas for their own benefit and growth.”

The auto service and repair workshop sector is one of the country’s largest and most important, employing more than 150,000 people in 23,000 small businesses.

“Our workshops across the country keep Australia moving. Often workshops are rightly focused on serving customers and managing day-to-day operations. Just taking the time to complete the Workshop Health Check can be an easy first step to find a new perspective that can inspire business improvements,” said Lesley.

The Workshop Health Check compliments the AAAA’s recent Workshop COVID-19 Impact Survey completed with research partner ACA Research. The findings of the impact that COVID-19 has been having on the industry has been beneficial for the AAAA to understand the challenges faced by workshops, and better direct development of AAAA support services. The Workshop Impact Survey also provides another way for workshops to compare and understand how they are travelling and seeks to reassure that they are not alone in their situation.

“The Workshop Health Check and Workshop Impact Survey are just two of many initiatives the AAAA has implemented to assist our industry. Along with our extensive market intelligence services, we represent and fight for our industry, promote skills and workforce development and continue to champion a mandatory data sharing law.

“Our members also enjoy the benefit of Legal and HR Hotlines, detailed car-parc data for busines development,  COVID-19 and general business resources in our Member Portal, direct engagement on industry issues, exclusive webinars, partner discount offers and much more.”
