One Week Until Australia’s Biggest Automotive Trade Event Opens Its Doors

With just one week to go until the Australian Auto Aftermarket Expo 2026 opens at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre from 14–16 May 2026, anticipation is building for what is set to be Australia’s biggest automotive trade event.

Co-located with the Collision Repair Expo 2026 and proudly sponsored by Repco, the Expo will bring together thousands of automotive professionals and more than 400 leading brands across 21,000sqm of tools, workshop equipment, diagnostics, technology, parts, accessories and business solutions.

The Expo combines a massive trade show with free world-class training, live demonstrations, networking opportunities and hands-on learning designed to help workshops, technicians and automotive professionals stay ahead in a rapidly changing industry.

Major drawcards are the free Technical Training and Business Management Training Programs, featuring respected local and international experts delivering practical advice workshops can apply immediately.

International trainers travelling to Melbourne include globally recognised diagnostic experts Steve Smith from the UK, Scott Hicks from the USA, and Keith and Liz Perkins from the USA.

The Expo floor will also feature interactive areas including the ADAS Technology Zone, with free sessions and demonstrations covering calibration processes, sensor systems and best-practice procedures for modern vehicles.

Diagnostics will also be a major focus of the Expo, reflecting its growing importance in modern vehicle service and repair. Alongside leading diagnostic brands on the show floor, technicians can sharpen their skills in the hands-on Diagnostic Discovery Zone, with practical activities designed to strengthen fault-finding capability on increasingly complex vehicles.

Another popular attraction is the Flying Spanners competition, which shines a spotlight on the next generation of automotive technicians through fast-paced practical challenges involving teams of automotive apprentices from around Australia.

Visitors will also experience live demonstrations, new product launches and the latest innovations in workshop equipment, EV and hybrid technologies, performance products and business systems from Australia’s leading suppliers and global brands.

“Held only once every two years, the Auto Aftermarket Expo is a spectacular opportunity for the industry to come together,” said Stuart Charity, AAAA CEO. “There is so much to see, do and learn — from the latest tools and technology to free world-class training and networking that can help grow businesses and further careers.”

For those seeking deeper training, the paid half day Advanced Technical Masterclasses on 13 May, ahead of the Expo opening, will offer world-class training in developing better diagnostic judgement, programming for popular makes, and network communication protocols.
