Join your fellow industry peers for an informative morning and delicious breakfast to kick off the 2024 Brisbane National 4×4 & Outdoors Show, hosted by the Convenor of the 4WD Industry Council, Nigel Bishop.

To open the morning’s official proceedings, Nigel will provide a brief update on industry news, before inviting our keynote presenter, AAAA CEO – Stuart Charity, to speak about the recent political activity organised in response to the crippling delays and inefficiencies AAAA members have been struggling whilst navigating the federal ROVER system.

On 7th February, the AAAA led a delegation of Second Stage Manufacturers to Canberra to meet with Members of Parliament and Senior Officials from the Department of Transport to advocate for an urgent overhaul of the ROVER approval process which has effectively brought our SSM industry to a standstill.

Issues include long wait times, insufficient feedback,  inconsistencies in the assessment of applications and continual changing of the rules with no accountability and no right of appeal. Stuart’s presentation will provide an outline of the discussions and agreed outcomes from the mission as well as a summary of the timelines and next steps in process to get a fit-for-purpose approval system that supports our world class Australian automotive design and engineering and manufacturing industry and ensures that vehicles are modified to handle Australia’s unique terrain and climate.
